OTHER GOOD THINGS TO KNOW
Q: Do you only shoot weddings?
A: NO! I photograph anything that helps you to remember your memories. I do babies, children, families, boudoir, Trash-the Dress...anything!
Q: Can we keep all of our photos?
A: Yes. You will receive a DVD containing all of the photographs and you will be granted full usage rights from the photographer. This means you may do with them as you please at no additional cost. You can print them, post them to the photo-sharing websites and email them to family and friends. Kimberlee Miller Photography retains the copyright on all photographs.
Q: What is your photography style?
A: I shoot primarily photojournalism and lifestyle photography – candid, unposed moments capturing the flow of events and details of your wedding day. I also shoot in a more traditional style of wedding photography for group and portrait photos. Most couples want a combination of both styles. I will guide and offer creative ideas and suggestions as we plan your wedding photography and throughout your wedding day, but never be obtrusive.
Q: How many photographs will you take?
A: Every wedding package includes unlimited photographs, generally 80-100 photographs per/hour of coverage.
Q: What if I want a second photographer at my wedding?
A: I am trained to shoot alone, but may suggest an assistant if you have a large wedding party or family. If you would like to request an assistant, the fee is $100/hour.
Q: Are the photographs touched-up?
A: The photographs on your DVD are edited, finished photographs, not unedited proofs directly off my camera. I review every photograph making adjustments as needed. Each image is post-processed, color-corrected and polished using the latest professional software. You can expect to receive color, black & white, sepia, color-toned and photo-manipulated photographs of your wedding day on your DVD. Any trouble-spots or flaws you wish to be removed can be done upon request and are typically removed anyway if they are obvious.
Q: How soon will I see my photos and get the DVD?
A: Images are posted online within 2 months from the event. But know, we just edit as fast as we can and it can be a little earlier or a little later depending on how busy we are.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: I use professional Canon digital cameras, Canon professional speed lights and Canon lenses. I process all of my photographs on current IBM computers using Photoshop and other professional photography software.
Q: Is a deposit required to hold my wedding date?
A: Yes. A retainer of 25% of your package price is required to hold your wedding date. The retainer amount applies toward your final contracted fee. The retainer amount is non-refundable. I can accept payment in cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. A fee may apply to credit card payments.
Q: When is my final payment due?
A: Your final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your event wedding day.
Q: Why do I have to pay sales tax on everything, including your services?
A: According to the State Board of Equalization, "When you sell art prints or shoot photographs for noncommercial use, the taxable amount of your charge will include all of the following: Your charges for the physical product you transfer to your customer, any labor and services involved in producing or fabricating the photograph, and any reproduction rights associated with the photograph."
Q: How far in advance are you booked?
A: I am usually booked 6-18 months in advance. June-October are my busiest months and usually book fairy quickly, especially Saturdays.
Q: Is your wedding package flexible?
A: Yes. My goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs and budget. Please call me if you have questions about my wedding photography packages/services or don't see what you're looking for.
Q: When is it best to schedule our engagement portrait?
A: Anytime within the year to your wedding. Some couples need photos for their save-the-dates while others only want them done right before the wedding. Most of my clients choose to use the photos in a guest sign-in book that I provide on all of my engagement packages. In that case, the session would need to be shot no later than a month before the wedding. Most sessions are shot outside, so please leave wiggle room for cancellations due to poor weather. I am always looking for suggestions on location, so please feel free to keep your eyes open for something fun and funky! I almost always shoot engagements session in the last hour of sunlight of the day. It is suggest to choose locations that are not over crowded or may require expensive permits.
Q: What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
A: We will develop an alternative plan in case of rain when we meet prior to your wedding day to plan your wedding photography. But, usually we just bring umbrellas and make it fun!
Q: Other than the website, do you have additional samples of your wedding photography?
A: Yes. Many additional samples can be viewed at my studio. I encourage you to schedule a time to meet with me and view my work. Most of my current work is viewable on Instagram @kimberleemillerphotography
Q: When do you typically meet with clients?
A: I am available by appointment during the business day, evenings or weekends. Please call or email to schedule an appointment.
Q: Do you photograph out-of-town weddings?
A: Yes. I am available for travel worldwide.
