This shoot has been swooped up and featured on both the Friar Tux and California Wedding Day blogs and made the cover of California Wedding Day’s Bride Ideas Magazine!!! One of our favorite stylized shoots last year!!!
“Nestled in the middle of Westlake Village is a hidden gem. The Westlake Yacht Club. Unlike any other venue in Southern California, WYC offers an amazing backdrop of sparkling water, sailboats and perfect sunsets. How could our photo shoot be anything but magical when coupled with the talents of the amazing vendors who pulled this one of a kind shoot together.
Annette Kirkhuff of Command Performance Catering and now Wheat & Honey Events said, “The first moment I stepped foot into the Westlake Yacht Club, I fell in love with the setting and knew it would create the perfect setting for a fabulous wedding.” Command Performance Catering along with the help of Kimberlee Miller Photography, created a vision that took the elements of the club and fused them with the talents of amazing vendors to bring you the “Knotical” themed style shoot.
Command Performance Catering provided a menu that included fish and chips, lobster rolls, cast iron skillets with apple crumble and vanilla bean ice cream, and a yummy clam boil that added classic seafood elements with a modern flare. Displaying the food in London themed newspaper wraps and on wood crates really added charm and made the food an intrical part to the shoot. The original wood bar was the perfect location to display our signature drinks in swing bottles. Luna Gardens sailboat and florals just made it pop even more.
XO Bloom was an obvious choice having just opened their Floral Bar right around the corner. Luna Gardens is one of the top florists in Southern California. We did not want just regular wedding flowers, we wanted Sarah Z’s vision that could take this shoot over the top. They really did with their grape wood arch, large candle lanterns, gorgeous centerpieces with a buried treasure theme. Succulents and other florals that represented coral and other water elements handing in the arch inspired their designs.
Elizabeth Mackenzie Designs and Kathleen Hagan took our young model, Lauren and transformed her into a glamour bride with hints of the dock like striped wedge shoes and a cute blue and white stripped ribbon draping down the back of her wedding dress. Which tied her dress too all of our linens. Kathleen Hagen gave Lauren a beautiful intricate waterfall braid that made her look stylish but fit in with our rope theme. Our handsome groom Kevin fashioned a classic navy tux by Friar tux with a perfect boutonniere that once again ties in with our navy stripe.
Frost It Cupcakery was beyond amazing with our nautical cake was placed upon a wood wine barrel with rope and netting accents and in a location at the club that was a focal point for the whole shoot. The navy and white fondant cake with rope accents and anchor was the frosting on the cake.
A Rental Connection brought elements of wood into our photo shoot with vineyard chair and vintage china and gold flatware.
Luxe Linen used our vision with navy blue and white stripped table runners for our seating tables and isle runner.
Orange Blossom designed our shell escort cards, menu and stationary with a twist on the Knotical theme.
Good Obsessions created the beautiful wooden signs.
Pier One had the perfect anchor used in our arch and sweetheart table along with the glass buoys hanging in the arch.
We used Pottery Barn’s Sailboat Place Card Holders on our vintage plates.
Kimberlee Miller Photography’s creativity with the light, sunset, vision and artistry captured the Westlake Yacht Club perfectly. From the logo on the sailboats to the ducks playing with our models on the dock and the gorgeous view of the lake all the vendors were in awe of this special day.”
